About Second Chance Landing
Where Heritage meets Hospitality
This 3rd-generation family farm began its next chapter in 2012, when Brian and Melissa set out to bring the property back to life. Originally built by Brian’s grandfather, the farm was once home to hogs, cattle, chickens, and row crops of corn and beans.
From the beginning, it was important to preserve as much of the original farm as possible—honoring the legacy and hard work that shaped it. What started as a vision has become an ongoing restoration, breathing new life into each structure while maintaining the character of the past. That work continues today, with plans to renovate the original 1930s chicken house into an additional guest space.
The name Second Chance Landing reflects the heart behind this journey. It represents a second chance in many ways—a second chance at love for Brian and Melissa, a second chance for this family farm to be restored and enjoyed once again, and a tribute to Brian’s grandparents, Sigfried and Clara Lensing, whose initials—SCL—are woven into the name.
What began generations ago as a working farm is now a place where guests can slow down, reconnect, and create their own memories. We’re honored to carry that legacy forward and share it with you.
